JOB DESCRIPTION
BUTCHER / FISH MONGER Responsibilities:
•Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Oversee preparation of Meat & Seafood.
• Monitor the quality of food that is prepared and presented.
• Ensure the quality of the food items and alert manager if a product does not meet specifications.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
• Knife Handling skills
• Excellent Customer service experience
• Clean working habits
BUTCHER / FISH MONGER Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 year overall experience working in kitchens
• A minimum of 1 season in a Butcher / Fish Monger role
• Must have experience working with Meat handling equipment.
• Must possess knowledge of hot to properly fillet, pin-bone, skin and portion out different fish
• Must be punctual & dependable
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Communicate effectively with all customers, co-workers, and management
• Accept and adapt easily to change.
- Two years experience as a restaurant cook preferred
- ServeSafe certification (or must be willing to attain)
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
- Must be able to carry supplies (30-50 lbs)
